Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPA)

Each of Burlington's Seven Wards have NPAs that meet monthly to discuss issues, share information and carry out activities designed to improve neighborhood life. UVM's Office of Conflict Resolution

Responds to calls from UVM students concerning their living situation from Burlington residents who have neighbor-to-neighbor issues that involve UVM students. Call 802 656 1402.

Burlington Neighborhood Project (BNP)

Works with residents of Burlington to form neighborhood associations and improve life on their streets. BNP offers leadership training and grants for small improvement projects. Community Support Program (CSP)

Provides help to people involved in neighborhood disputes by providing mediators and by offering resources and advice. Staffed with trained civilians employed by the Burlington Police Department (BPD), the CSP's job is to facilitate a peaceful outcome to neighborhood problems. Neighbor Response Team (NRT)

Run by CSP, the Community Justice Center and the City's Code Enforcement Office, makes available trained volunteer facilitators to help settle disputes over ordinance issues. To request a facilitator or to learn how to become one yourself, contact Neighbor Response Team at 802 658 2704 x 338.

Peace and Justice Center's Racial Justice and Equity Project

Provides advocacy to people of color in Burlington. For information, call 802 863 2345.

Burlington Eco Info Project

Vermont Tenants Inc.

Burlington's Department of Planning and Zoning

Community Justice Center (CJC)

Provides community-based responses to low-level crime and conflict in partnership with the criminal justice system. Services include: resources and forums for residents interested in learning about conflict resolution, support for victims of low-level crime and Restorative Justice Panels. Champlain Senior Center

Offers programs, support and activities for people 60 and older including: relief from cold and warm weather, health checks, nutritious meals and computer access. All services are free. Call 802 658 3585.

Champlain Valley Agency on Aging

Case managers visit with seniors in their homes and assist with benefit applications. For more information, call 802 865 0360.

Vermont Center for Independent Living

The Vermont Center for Independent Living is an organization run by persons with disabilities working towards dignity, independence and civil rights. Call 1 800 639 1522 for information and referrals to resources.
